Fairview Health Services Emergency Department Technician in Burnsville, Minnesota


Fairview Health Services is looking for an Emergency Department Technician at Fairview Ridges Hospital in Burnsville, MN.

The Emergency Department at Fairview Ridges (Burnsville, MN) is a 40 bed unit, serves patients of all ages, from pediatric to adults, and incorporates a multidisciplinary approach to all emergencies.

The ED Tech will work on an interdisciplinary team consisting of Board Certified/Eligible ED Physicians, RN’s, ER Techs, Health Unit Coordinators, and Transport Aides.


48 hours in two weeks (includes weekend and holiday rotation)

Responsibilities/Job Description

The ED Tech is responsible for direct and indirect patient care including, but not limited to:

  • Doing EKG's,

  • Prepping wounds

  • Assisting with Ortho procedures and vital signs

  • Keeping the area stocked and organized with supplies


Required Qualifications:

  • Completion of Emergency Medical Tech (EMT) coursework or Nursing Assistant coursework.

  • EMT or Nursing Assistant experience

  • Ability to provide written validation of current basic life support competency

Preferred qualifications:

  • 1 year ERT experience

  • Emergency Room Technician (ERT) or CNA certification or EMT certification

Desired Skills:

  • Excellent customer service and communication

  • Proficient in the English language

  • Attention to detail

  • Ability to problem solve effectively
