Healtheast and Fairview Health Services is looking for a Lactation Consultant at Woodwind’s Hospital in Woodbury, MN. This position is casual status with 0 assigned hours per two weeks.

About this position –Lactation Consultant

The Lactation Consultant assesses and meets specific needs of breastfeeding women, both inpatient and outpatient and works with maternity care team and clinical staff as a resource.

Responsibilities/Job Description

  • Provides one on one consultation, develops and implements education for patients /families in the HealthEast Outpatient Lactation Clinic.

  • Provides follow up for patients who have discussed lactation concerns with staff nurses and need additional consultation with a lactation consultant.

  • Acts as a visible lactation resource to promote lactation services, breastfeeding education and breast pump sales.

  • Maintains knowledge of, and complies with, all relevant laws, regulations, policies, procedures and standards.

  • Actively participates in creating and implementing improvements.

  • Performs other responsibilities as needed/assigned



  • Associate’s Degree in Nursing

  • Valid MN RN license from MN Board of Nursing

  • International BC Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) from International Board of Lactation Consultants

  • 2 to 3 years’ experience working with breastfeeding mothers

  • Ability to plan and implement breastfeeding education for patients and staff


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing

  • 2 to 3 years’ experience planning and implementing patient and staff education
