Practice Description

Fairview & HealthEast is seeking a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner to join our team and grow our newest and largest multi-specialty clinic in Maplewood, Minnesota , which opened in the Fall of 2017.

Practice Details:

  • The primary care group includes 5 Pediatricians, 1 Pediatric NP, 2 Internal Medicine physicians, 2 Family Medicine physicians, 2 Certified Nurse Practitioners, 1 Physician Assistant and Nurse Midwives.

  • The practice includes working in an outpatient clinic, rounding on babies at 2 hospitals, and conducting newborn follow ups for feeding (lactation) issues, hyperbilirubinemia, weight monitoring, and support of parents within 24-48 hours of discharge from the hospital, with some acute pediatric visits.

  • Provide full scope primary care for pediatric patients including diagnosis, treatment, consultation, and follow-up for patients working collaboratively with assignedpediatricians to manage those physicians’ panel of patients.

  • Patient encounters average between 15 - 20 patients per day.

  • Will be required to work every other Saturday in the clinic for newborn follow up issues.

  • Will travel to the HealthEast Tamarack Clinic in Woodbury, Minnesota, to see pediatric patients 1 day/week;and travel to St. John's Hospital in Maplewood and Woodwinds Hospital in Woodbury to round on patients on a weekly basis.

  • 32 patient contact hours/week with 8 hours of administrative time.

  • Fully integrated electronic medical record (EPIC).

  • Full time (1.0 FTE) opportunity available.

  • No call is required.

Income Details:

  • Base salary with annual increases.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of a school of nursing and accredited Pediatric Nurse Practitioner training program.

  • BC/BE through the AANP or ANCC.

  • Licensed or ability to obtain APRN license with the Minnesota Board of Nursing.

  • Ability to obtain and /or maintain DEA certification for the State of Minnesota.

  • Meet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges (if required).

  • IBCLC certified or willing to become certified within 6 months of employment

  • BLS and ACLS Certified

  • 5 years experience as a registered nurse (preferably in pediatrics) with 2 years experience as a Nurse practitioner in a primary care clinic setting

Walk In Care Clinic, X-ray, lab, CT, MRI and mammography is also available onsite.
