Our security team has an outstanding reputation for meeting the needs of hospital patients, visitors and staff, offering assistance and providing excellent customer service. They pro-actively work to prevent theft and vandalism and may occasionally be involved in high risk or potentially dangerous situations which require a range of safety precautions.
Patrols designated areas according to established procedures and documents patrols in daily shift reports
Documents daily activities in report writing system
Provides assistance to patients, visitors and staff
Responds to calls for services
Assists in the control (often physical) of potentially violent individuals which requires strength, stamina, flexibility and critical thinking
Works with potentially unpredictable individuals requiring that teamwork and communication with other security officers
Maintains knowledge of, and complies with, all relevant laws, regulations, policies, procedures and standards
Actively participates in creating and implementing improvements
Performs other responsibilities as needed/assigned
High school graduate or equivalent required
Certified Peace Officer (POST) through the MN Board of Peace Officer Standards and Training preferred
Emergency Med Tech Basic (EMT-B) through the MN Emergency Medical Services Regulatory Board preferred
Two years security, customer service, military experience or Associates degree and one year of security or customer service experience or Bachelor degree in a related field
Class D Drivers License required
Basic computer knowledge required
Must be able to pass MN BCA, FBI and HHS background check
Must pass HealthEast background check
Must be able to pass FTO, CPR and Use of Force Training
