Behavioral Float Pool
All Behavioral Assistants, Psych Associates and RNs report to a nurse manager
The float pool consists of approximately 30 RNs and 60 Psych Associates
The float pool serves a wide spectrum of patients within the Behavioral Health department including child/adolescents, adults, and seniors.
The Behavioral Assistant is responsible for assisting the nursing staff in maintaining a safe environment in the in-patient setting. Respond to, assist and observe patients. BCS response priority.
The individual in this role receives training in all of the inpatient behavioral areas and upon completion of orientation, will respond to any of the inpatient behavioral unit needs.
Two year college equivalent in human services field
Basic Life Support Certification
Junior or Senior in an accredited college or an Associate's Degree
6-12 months experience with emotionally disturbed persons
