Fairview Health Services Psychiatric (Child/Adolescent Inpatient) - Nurse Practitioner PMHNP / Clinical Nurse Specialist PMHCNS in Minneapolis, Minnesota

Fairview Health Services is seeking a board certified/board eligible Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner or Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our inpatient child and adolescent hospitalist service at the University of Minnesota Masonic Children's Hospital. In this position, the APRN will have the ability to see child/adolescent patients throughout our variety of child/adolescent inpatient units.

At University of Minnesota Masonic Children's Hospital, we have one of the largest inpatient mental-health and substance abuse programs for children and teens in the nation. Our wide range of services includes: inpatient, behavioral emergency center, partial hospitalization, outpatient clinics, counseling centers, adolescent chemical dependency program, and adolescent dual diagnosis day programs.

Join a collaborative multidisciplinary team of Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists, Psychiatric Mental Health Advanced Practice Nurses, Psychiatric Registered Nurses, Pediatric Medicine Hospitalists, Program Directors, Psychiatric Associates, Chemical Dependency Counselors and Recreational Therapists.

Practice Details:

Practice at the University of Minnesota Masonic Children's Hospital in Minneapolis, MN in modern, bright patient care environment with therapeutic areas such as sensory rooms, pool, and playground.

Rotate throughout all of the child/adolescents units to provide coverage for open beds (due to vacations, increased census, etc).

See patients of all ages (from 4 to 18) and treat a variety of psychiatric diagnoses.

Fully integrated Electronic Medical Record (EPIC).

Call Coverage: Approx. 6 weekends/yr, with possible weeknight call coverage.

Openings: 1.0 FTE

Income Details:

Salaried position with additional call pay and annual team bonus.

Position Qualifications:

A qualified candidate will be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and formal Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner or Clinical Nurse Specialist training program.

Have a current Minnesota APRN license and be approved or eligible by the Minnesota Board of Nursing for prescription writing privileges.

Be eligible or certified through ANCC and meet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges.

Ability to obtain and/or maintain DEA certification for the State of Minnesota.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience in child and adolescent psychiatric clinical practice is preferred.
