Fairview Health Services RN Ortho in Minneapolis, Minnesota

Overview

  • 24 Beds.

  • Primarily orthopedics with med/surg overflow.

  • Total joint replacements and revisions, specialized orthopedic procedures such as limb lengthening, orthopedic tumor removals, amputations.

  • Work closely with Orthopedic Surgeons, Residents, NP, Infectious Disease Specialists, and Hospitalists, as well as PT/OT team.

  • Team supported by Nurse Manager, Clinical Nurse Specialist and Clinical Development Specialist.

  • Care delivery team: RN & NST on all shifts. Average 3-4 patients on Day/Eve shift, 5-6 on night shift.

  • New graduate nurses considered, BSN preferred.

Responsibilities/Job Description

  

Provides care to adult orthopedic patients with complex medical conditions which require close observation, monitoring and interventions.

  • Safely employs (sets-up, utilizes and trouble shoots) the following monitoring devices including but not limited to:

  • CPM

  • Traction

  • Cryocuffs

  • Braces

  • Manages complex medication and infusion therapies

  • Care for patient undergoing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures/interventions on the unit

Qualifications

Required:

  • MN RN License

  • Once current year of Med Surg experience in a hospital setting

  • BLS

Preferred:

  • BSN
