Fairview Health Services Senior Improvement Advisor in Minneapolis, Minnesota
Fairview Health Services is looking for a Senior Improvement Advisor for our corporate IT office in Minneapolis, MN. This is a full-time position working day hours, Monday thru Friday.
This role is responsible for the development, initiation and oversight of performance improvement initiatives with the Fairview Lean Promotion Office. Coaches, consults, and collaborates with senior leaders and staff across the organization to guide the evaluation, prioritization, planning and implementation of improvement initiatives across Fairview’s Performance dimensions focusing on improvement of processes, clinical quality, patient and employee safety, regulatory and accreditation improvements, regulatory requirements and infection prevention and control.
Manages multiple projects simultaneously across the organization to achieve clinical and safety outcomes through effective assessment, planning, coordination, facilitation, implementation and overall project management.
Prioritizes work in alignment with Performance Dimension priorities as specified by our system strategies.
Expert practitioner of Lean Principles, Tools and Systems, including project management, team facilitation, education/training and advanced data analytics.
Responsible for the deployment and spread of improvements across the system.
Works with the Lean Promotion Office to ensure that the methodology for management and improvement is consistent with other areas of the business/system and works to continuously improve the Fairview Operating System.
Communicates performance improvement activities to senior leaders, team members, and staff.
Actively develops collaborative relationships with all internal groups, external agencies and other stakeholders related to performance improvement and performance excellence.
Extracts operational and financial data and performs analysis to identify root causes. Advises senior leaders and staff on data collection and monitoring techniques, including observation or tracking tools.
Helps senior leaders and teams establish performance standards and identify goals and outcomes.
Partners with IT and other areas of the business to develop, implement, or refine workflows or data collection and management methods to ensure accurate measurement and tracking of process and performance improvement results.
Develops operational decision support tools, including dashboards and leading indicators for continuous process improvement and optimization.
Excellent teacher who coaches others within areas of focus as dictated by our strategic priorities.

Anticipates and identifies barriers to change and develops countermeasures in conjunction with senior leadership to overcome the barriers
Maintains knowledge of, and complies with, all relevant laws, regulations, policies, procedures and standards. (e.g. CMS, DHS, The Joint Commission, OSHA)
Demonstrates ability to provide care or service adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level and cultural differences of population served
Bachelor’s degree business, healthcare, performance improvement or other related area
3+ years’ experience leading Lean deployment & improvement work, preferably in a healthcare setting including people and project leadership
Masters in healthcare related field
5 years relevant experience
Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ)
Other Required Skills
Demonstrated experience in successfully leading multi-disciplinary teams through change.
Advanced in analytical skills including collection, analysis and interpretation of qualitative and quantitative data and the creation of sustainable measurement systems
Advanced skills in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project, Sharepoint, OneNote)
