Fairview Health Services Windows Server Engineer in Minneapolis, Minnesota
The Windows Server Engineer role is responsible for installing, administering, and optimizing Microsoft Windows servers and related components to achieve and maintain high performance of business applications. This includes ensuring the availability of client/server applications, configuring new implementations, and developing processes and procedures for ongoing management of the server environment. Scope of responsibilities include server hardware, Windows Server operating systems, core Microsoft back office technologies, and 3rd party infrastructure software and applications.
Job Expectations :
Manage, maintain, monitor and support the infrastructure environment. Install, configure and support hardware and software required to operate assigned technology.
Provide ongoing maintenance including updates, patches and anti-virus updates. Troubleshoot and resolve issues in assigned technology including hardware, software, operating system and application-related issues.
Conduct performance monitoring, system health checks, trending analysis and capacity planning. Analyze system performance metrics and make recommendations for solutions to issues.
Manage assigned projects and program components to deliver services in accordance with project timelines. Develop and maintain documentation related to technology installation.
Maintain relevant hardware and software at current levels of support by applying patches and updates as recommended.
Provide technical leadership and consultation on design, development and implementation of Windows server-based systems. Engineer Windows server solutions that include integration, data storage, retention and disaster recovery planning for business critical applications and functions
Maintain current knowledge of industry trends and potential impact on the infrastructure administration and maintenance.
Bachelor’s Degree in technology field or equivalent work experience
3-5 years of system administration experience.
Excellent working knowledge of up-to-date desktop applications
Knowledge of Windows Servers, workstations, MS Exchange, VMware, Citrix, anti-virus and other various software applications
Microsoft Remote Desktop Services
MCP - Microsoft Certified Professional
