Responsibilities

Provides proactive, technical, Power BI technical and platform administration through planning, coordination, documentation, and management reporting. Performs administration activities related to hundreds of reporting and visualization capabilities. Ensures high availability, reliability, consistently high throughput and system performance, and high levels of customer service and trust.

Will provide Power BI administration training to other team members, and will also incorporate other business intelligence platforms (Business Objects, Crystal Reports, Qlik) into areas of responsibility. Will be part of an on-call and maintenance operations organization.

Provides proactive technical administration, planning, coordination, documentation, and management reporting for business intelligence platforms throughout the organization. Performs system tuning and performance monitoring, and troubleshoots and resolves performance issues with a high level of urgency.

Coordinates business intelligence platform project and support activities. Contributes to report design and development to help ensure optimal performance.

Will be a part of the on-call support rotation and executes the prompt resolution of production incidents. Perform system monitoring and tuning, report object backup and restore, proactive system maintenance, report SQL tuning, and the planning and installation of platform upgrades and patches.

Manages BI platform security, including development and monitoring of policies and procedures. Administers user rights and license management. Ensures security and the compliance of HIPAA regulations by protecting the confidentiality of information within the environment by preventing unauthorized access to information.

Assists with capital procurement by providing expert consultation on system sizing and license growth, software installations and upgrades. Proactively researches, consults, and recommends technology enhancements, always seeking continuous improvement.

Acts as an internal consultant, providing guidance and leadership for complex projects and issues. Partners with database administrators, developers, management, system users and software/hardware vendors. Assists and provides technical influence to other IT and business partnerships.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.

Demonstrated solution delivery experience to all position success factors with focus on optimization of Power BI environments for usability, performance, flexibility, testability, standardization, and automation.

Expertise of Power BI platform management and its technical predecessors , acquired through 5+ years of experience. Experience with T-SQL and DAX Query Language tuning expertise, stack components SSAS and SSRS, and SSIS; successful history incorporating integrated enterprise security protocols, scheduling, automated incident creating and paging, and multiple report and information delivery mechanisms.

One or more business intelligence technical certifications preferred.

Experience in a healthcare delivery organization using EPIC is preferred.

Must be able to work outside of standard business hours and participate in on-call rotation.

Must have a strong character value of teamwork, service orientation, establishing and maintaining relationships, competitive when it comes to problem solving, and calm in the face of pressure situations.
