Staffing Coordinators assist department Clinical Leaders with daily staffing needs ensuring appropriate staffing levels are maintained.   • Maintains knowledge of, and complies with, all relevant laws, regulations and policies, procedures and standards

  • Actively participates in creating and implementing improvements to achieve clinical, satisfaction and/or efficiency outcomes

  • Reviews staffing levels on a daily basis and calls available staff

  • Reviews scheduled staff with charge nurse and Administrative Nursing Supervisor on a shift-by shift basis to ensure skill level is adequate for patient care needs

  • Provides information regarding staffing requirements to staff and management

  • Reports issues and problems to department leader and/or Administrative Nursing Supervisor

  • Provides staffing report to Administrative Nursing Supervisor regarding census and staff needed for next shift all within proper contract guidelines

  • Answers phones, provides customer service to staff coming into the office daily

  • Reviews and updates employees My Time records in Kronos

  • Ensures accurate records of agency use are completed on a daily basis to include licensure and DHS, orientation, and evaluation forms

  • Approves and processes shift exchanges, ensures accurate data entry in scheduling system to include ill calls, schedules changes, and extra shifts

  • Seeks opportunities to improve existing processes, procedures, and practices


  • Associate (2 year) degree in business or healthcare-related area, OR High School diploma/GED and equivalent experience required.

  • 1-3 years of related office or healthcare experience required.

  • Previous hospital experience preferred.

  • Computer Skills Basic: Ability to use a computer and applications that are associated with performing basic work tasks (use a mouse, navigate in Windows, Outlook, etc)

  • Critical Thinking: Gathers and integrates critical information, recognizing and addressing underlying assumptions of others, to arrive at effective solutions; breaks down problems into simple tasks or activities; analyzes relationships among several parts of a situation

  • Interpersonal Communication: Skilled in developing effective rapport with customers, co-workers, or families, actively listening to develop a positive connection

  • Office Skills: Knowledge and application of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, stenography and transcription, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology

  • Organization: Effective management of projects, deadlines, and work load prioritizing; putting things together in an orderly and functional whole

  • Records Management: Knowledge of appropriate data collection policy and procedures, filing systems, data management systems, and programs

  • Ability to compile, assimilate, organize, and store printed and electronic information

  • Scheduling: Knowledgeable in assigning appropriate amount of resources to meet business needs

  • Written Communication: Ability to organize and express information and ideas in written form to individuals as well as groups

  • Construct messages that are clear and convincing
