Job Description:

This position is responsible for assisting the professional nurse in the delivery of patient care, transporting patient and / or equipment, setting up and maintaining patient rooms, reordering and stocking supplies. The emergency department specialist does not work autonomously but under the direction of a professional nurse. He / she may or may not be given a patient care assignment based on unit needs and the discretion of the manager / charge nurse. The emergency department specialist position is responsible for coordinating all clerical functions on nursing station.

Job Qualifications:

Successful candidates will be required to have EMT certification or active on the MN Nursing Assistant Registry. Preferred candidates will have Pediatrics or ERT experience. BLS certification.

Candidates must possess exceptional communication skills such as clear speech, ability to read, legible handwriting, strong computer skills and an understanding of medical terminology. A self-starter, who is passionate about creating an exceptional patient experience, will receive top consideration.
