Location- Fairview Ridges Hospital in Burnsville, MN. Position is 56 hours in two weeks, Mainly M-Friday, Evening shifts (3-1130 pm), occasional weekend call shifts and holiday rotation. Benefit eligible
Instrument Tech determines OR surgical instruments needed for surgery cases and sets up instrument trays working in our 12 bed Operating Room. We see on average 10, 000 cases a year. Decontaminates and sterilizes surgical instruments including preparation. Serves as resource to physicians, nurses, and medical staff in the OR regarding surgical instruments.
Graduate of accredited Central Service Program or
Surgical Tech Program within past 3 years or
Other health care related education that includes training in the principles, methods, and sterilization processes including care and handling of surgical instrumentation, sterile goods and equipment or
Two years work experience in an O.R. or successful completion of Fairview SIPT Internship program
Must be able to work in a team environment.
Must have strong communication skills in person and via phone
Two years assembly and sterilization of hospital Operating Room surgical instrumentation experience within past 3 years, minimum education requirements as stated above
Three years hospital Operating Room surgical instrumentation experience preferred.
Physical demands: Sitting, standing, walking, lifting-max 35lbs, push/pull-max. 35 lbs, balance, stooping/crouching, grasping, writing, finger dexterity/keyboarding, reaching, color vision, operate machinery, physical presence at work.
