Manage/direct the adjustment of inventory levels of stock and nonstock supplies/equipment throughout the site (to include, but not limited to all patient care areas, surgery, ancillary departments, related clinics).
Make independent judgments and decisions based on analyzing and monitoring inventory levels to authorize volume purchases regarding inventory levels. Consider labor and acquisition costs in determining appropriate par levels for cost efficient inventory management.
Establish parameters for equipment levels including rental guidelines. Maintain, verify and update the receiving and distribution records and supplies. Provide communication to all departments regarding changes and updates relating to product descriptions, number, units of measure, stock additions and deletions, and inventory exceptions to supply pathway/procedure pack configurations.
Provide strong leadership in guiding and supporting department managers in appropriate inventory control to manage costs and meet department fluctuations. Works directly with vendors, suppliers, corporate materials, and department directors and managers.
Serve as subject matter expert on Materials Management Information System (MMIS). Recommend process improvements to customers and superiors.
Preferred Education BA/BS in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Nursing, or a related field Preferred Certification Certified Resource and Materials Professional (CMRP), APICS Minimum Experience 1 year inventory management or 2 years in working healthcare working with medical products Preferred Experience 2 years inventory management in healthcare
