A Medication Scribe works with doctors, nurses and pharmacists to enter patient medication information into the electronic medical record. The end product is a complete, current and accurate medication list in the electronic record obtained through a streamlined process that contributes to patient satisfaction.
Gather patient medication and allergy information utilizing patients and their families, pharmacy, and other care facility records, to produce an accurate medication and allergy list.
Enter the information into the electronic medical record in an accurate and timely manner.
Enter medications and allergies into patients' profiles.
Enter the patients' allergies and home medications (drug, dose, frequency, route of administration, etc.) into the computer system.
Associates degree in related healthcare field such as LPN or CPhT
CPhT or LPN
Two years of pharmacy, LPN or medication administration experience
