Job Description:

The University of Minnesota Medical Center represents an integrated academic health care system and is comprised of two hospitals and dozens of adult specialty clinics on both the East and West banks of the University of Minnesota campus in Minneapolis. About the Job

The main responsibility of the Receptionist is to assist with Customer Service responsibilities at the East Bank campus at UMMC, Fairview and PAC by assisting visitors, family members, staff and patients in the Preoperative waiting room. Other duties include:

Relays questions, answers questions as well as assists callers and visitors regarding O.R. patients as appropriate.

Respects and maintains patient confidentiality in regards to release of information requests related to patients.

Exhibits excellent customer service with patients, visitors, physicians, co-workers, community and referral sources.

Performs various clerical duties as assigned

Excellent customer service skills required.

Ability to work in a fast paced environment, answer busy phones, multitask, and adept in problem solving.

Ability to maintain polite and professional image both in person and on the telephone.

Due to differences in scope of care, practice, or service across settings, the specific experience required for this position may vary

This position is a casual position with no authorized hours during varied Day and Evening shifts with varrying start times and is not benefit eligible.
