Job Description:

Provide a welcoming and supportive environment to families in the Perioperative Services' Surgery Family Waiting Room. Greet patients and visitors when they enter the surgery area and keep updated on patient status. Coordinate communication between the patient care staff, the physician and the patient's family when the surgical procedure is in process. Make rounds throughout the day seeking to proactively assist visitors by answering questions and providing information. Screen and refer all incoming phone calls and visitors to ensure accurate and timely communication is facilitated and the visitors are comfortable with the surgical experience. Keep the Surgery Lounge area clean and organized by ensuring magazines and other items are picked up regularly and fresh coffee and water are available.

Job Qualifications:

Previous experience in customer service.

Prefer six months experience in a health care setting.

Pleasant and cheerful disposition, able to interact with the public and provide excellent customer service. Able to work time assigned. Able to empathize with families in stressful situations. Respectful and comfortable working with people of diverse backgrounds.
