Job Description:

The Remittance Processor position upon receipt of payments from patients, insurance companies and other medical facilities, will verify, encode, and prepare payments for deposit. The Remittance Processor must be extremely thorough and accurate when processing work to identify account numbers and other key information such as dollar amounts, dates, and signatures to ensure checks are deposited correctly and in deposits are in balance. This position requires the ability to work under pressure with multiple deadlines throughout the day while still maintaining a high level of quality work. Overall expectations are as follows:

· Receive payments from patients, insurance companies and other medical facilities:

o Verify accuracy of information on checks

o Identify deposit location based on information provided on checks and documentation

o Adhere to payment policies and procedures

· Process, code, and balance check and credit card payments.

o Able to process high volumes of work with high quality outcomes

o Able to work well under pressure with multiple daily deadlines while maintaining a high level of detail and accuracy

o Follow various processes depending upon items being processed

· Miscellaneous Responsibilities:

o Prepare bank deposits using multiple software systems including RPS and CEO

o Work well within a team to coordinate daily work and ensure it is done according to multiple deadlines

o Research items to identify where they need to be deposited

o Create and send various letters to patients, insurance companies and other medical facilities if a payment cannot be accepted and/or deposited for various reasons

o Work with other internal departments to identify, locate, or research deposits

o Work with other internal departments to setup special handling when needed

o Cross train on various other department functions and have the ability to take on additional tasks as needed

Job Qualifications:


High School Diploma

0-1 years of experience in a clerical role.


Associates Degree

1-3 years experience in Finance, Treasury, Banking or other related field.
