In addition to the RN job description, the Flying Squad (Resource) Nurse within Fairview Ridges Hospital which is located in Burnsville, MN carries a pager and works with the Administrative Nursing Supervisor and Charge Nurses to support peak workload activities in the Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit and critical situations housewide. This person moves throughout the hospital to assist with special procedures, performs difficult venepunctures, transfers of patients requiring cardiac monitoring, and assists with crisis interventions as needed. Oriented to ED, ICU, Endoscopy, and Radiology. Part of the Code Blue - Rapid Response team. Majority of the shifts will be working in the flying squad/resource role while some will be in the float pool role. Critical Care Float pool RN's are assigned to work with a group of patients in various units to fill vacancies of the regularly scheduled staff, i.e. vacations, illness and absences. RN's are oriented to support ER, Medical Cardiac Tele IMC, ICU and other units as needed.
This position is 12 hour Day shifts, every third weekend, position could be either 48 or 60 hours in two weeks. Opportunity to pick up shifts exist. Benefit eligible.

3 years RN work experience in critical care or equivalent setting, telemetry, and venepuncture skills.
Requires ability to provide written validation of current ACLS competency or ability to obtain written validation within 6 months of hire based on employee's role.
BLS for health care providers is required prior to start
RN licensure in state of MN or by start date.
Strongly prefer recent ER or ICU RN experience.
