The Senior Quality Consultant for the Pediatric Heart Center's primary focus will drive and enhance the overall development and management of quality improvement programs in the Heart Center at University of Minnesota Masonic Children's Hospital. Secondary focus in inpatient pediatric quality improvement. Executes initiatives ensuring that scope and alignment are with organizational goals. Assures resources are in place for program execution and works effectively with leadership and stakeholders by understanding challenges, formulating creative options, and implementing measurable solutions. Assists in defining requirements and works to ensure project planning, initiation and all aspects of project implementation and monitoring. Works collaboratively with the Heart Center and Quality and Patient Safety leadership, dyad clinical operational leadership, and key stakeholders (such as but not limited to care providers and administrators from CVICU, pediatric cardiology, cardiac surgery, pharmacy, cardiac anesthesia, and perfusion) to ensure the success of quality improvement projects and programs. Proactively identifies project risks and mitigates them.
Bachelor's Degree in Business or Healthcare
10-12 years of combined education in relevant area, clinical experience, and/or PI/PM experience in a hospital setting.
Computer skills at an expert knowledge and application level required for spreadsheets, tables, statistical packages and PowerPoint required.
License/Certification/Registration: Either certification from an accredited PI training program (i.e. Green Belt, Black Belt, CPHQ, etc.) or by virtue of education/training evidence of applied knowledge of measurement and/or research design equivalent to PI concepts.
Master's Degree in Business or Healthcare
More than 15 years of combined education in relevant area, clinical experience, and/or PI/PM experience in a hospital setting.
