Surgical Tech position includes supporting the work on a busy L&D unit (Cesarean and Vaginal deliveries) at Fairview Ridges Hospital located in Burnsville, MN
The Surg Tech performs the functions of a surgical technologist as a scrub person during Cesarean Sections in collaboration with the RN. The surgical Tech is responsible for adhering to standards of nursing practice and patient care, correct use of supplies/equipment and maintenance of the surgical suite under the direction of an RN.Corrects use and setup of supplies and equipment for both vaginal and cesarean deliverie. Assists other members of the team with cleaning of room in readiness of next patient
Benefit Eligible Position at 48 hours in two weeks, every third weekend, combination of 12 hr Days and Nights (7-7); may include the opportunity for in-house call.
- Opportunity may exist to pick up shifts.
Military or LPN surgical asisstant, or surgical technologist training program completion
Current BLS certification with American Heart Association as a Healthcare Provider
Must have ability to prioritize and work in multi-task in a complex work environment.
Excellent communication skills, and the ability to prioritize and multi-task in a complex work environment.
Surgical Technologist Certification (CST) or certification eligible at time of hire
Graduate from an accredited Surgical Technologist Program.
Experience working as a surgical technologist in an acute care setting (hospital)
