The Emergency Department at Fairview Ridges (Burnsville, MN) is a 40 bed unit, serves patients of all ages, from pediatric to adults, and incorporates a multidisciplinary approach to all emergencies.
The Transport Aide facilitates the care of Emergency Department patients receiving ancillary department services including: transporting patients to Radiology, delivering specimens to the Laboratory, delivering or retrieving materials. The Transport Aide will also periodically will stock supplies and maintain cleanliness of the Emergency Department.
The transport aide will work on an interdisciplinary team consisting of Board Certified/Eligible ED Physicians, RN's, ER Techs, Health Unit Coordinators, and Transport Aides.
This position is benefit eligible.
56 hours in two weeks (includes weekend and holiday rotation)
Completion of either nursing assistant or Emergency Medical Tech (EMT) coursework
Must be able to work in a fast paced environment, multi-task, take direction, and be organized. Must be able to lift /push patients to and from the ER dept.
Requires ability to provide written validation of current basic life support competency or ability to obtain written validation within 30 days of hire.
Certified Nursing Assistant or Emergency Room Technician certificate
Prefer experience as a Nursing Assistant, PCA, PCT or EMT.
