We know that different things are meaningful to different women and everyone has different expectations for their birth experience, so we offer personalized care that respects the patient wants, needs and cultural traditions.

Assists physician as a scrub assistant for cesarean births. Cleans, stocks, and maintains labor and delivery and operating room area. Assists with clerical tasks, patient care and patient transport as requested.

This is for a .6 evening position, working every other weekend and call rotation.

Responsibilities/Job Description

  • Assists physician as a scrub assistant during surgical procedures efficiently and safely

  • Recognizes and maintains surgical instruments/equipment to ensure proper use and availability during surgical cases

  • Performs surgical counts on all surgical procedures to ensure patient safety

  • Maintains the physical environment of labor and delivery and the operating room so that areas are always immediately ready

  • Orients patients to labor and delivery area

  • Assists with patient admission and chart completion when requested

  • Transfers patients, discharges delivered and undelivered patients when requested

  • Answers patient call lights and assistswithpatients’needs as appropriate

  • Maintains knowledge of, and complies with, all relevant laws, regulations, policies, procedures and standards

  • Actively participates in creating and implementing improvements

  • Performs other responsibilities as needed/assigned


  • Completion or in process of compleletion of Surgical Technology program

  • Valid Basic Life Support (BLS)

  • Certified Surgical Technologist(CST) through theNational Board of Surgical Tech and SurgicalAssistingPreferred

  • No experience required 1 year ofOR experience insurgery or labor and delivery setting or equivalent combination of education or experience preferred

  • Knowledge of surgical asepsis and sterile technique

  • 1 year of OR experience in surgery or labor and delivery setting or equivalent combination of education or experience preferred
