Responsibilities/Job Description

  • Works to assure safety of patients, visitors and staff and property

  • Works proactively to prevent theft and vandalism, responds to needs of hospital staff

  • Offers assistance to those in need, provides excellent customer service, and takes direction from department supervisory/management staff

  • Work may involve high risk with exposure to potentially dangerous situations which requires range of safety precautions.

  • Works with potentially unpredictable individuals requiring that teamwork and communication with other security officers and staff are critical.

  • Physical interaction with such individuals requires strength, stamina, flexibility and critical thinking.


Required Qualifications:

  • 2 years Security experience or Associate Degree and 1 year Security experience

  • Class D Driver’s License

  • Pass BCA and FBI background check

  • Pass Fairview background check

  • Basic computer literacy required

  • Must have current CPR certification through American Red Cross or American Heart Association by first day of employment.

  • ASP (baton), handcuffing and chemical agent training

  • International Association for Hospital Safety and Security Certification required within 90 days of job hire.
